As Nicolette and Byron blast Victor for interfering in their love lives, Victor tries to justify his intentions. Byron warns him against any more meddling, but Nicolette asks him to explain to Amira that he is a silly fool who doesn't know what he is talking about.

Unfortunately this goes down like a lead balloon with Amira, who can't understand why they are even talking about this issue again, since she lives on the other side of the country and she and Nicolette were never going to be in a relationship anyway. Nicolette is left sadly disappointed.

Byron is worried that Sadie is being distant with him, despite his explanation that he's never talked about marriage any time soon and Victor was blowing everything out of proportion.

Sadie admits the whole thing has had her a little bit rattled but she cares about him enough to move past the discomfort. Byron is hugely relieved. Getting back on track in a sweet way, the two admit the crisis has taught them they really don't want to lose the other and they exchange tentative "I love yous" for the first time.

Meanwhile, Mackenzie's frustrations with Amira continue to escalate as Amira repeatedly gets in the way of Mackenzie and Haz spending any quality time together. Haz admits to Mackenzie that he knows his sister can be a little bit overbearing and annoying sometimes, but he'd rather focus on rebuilding his relationship with family, rather than sweating the small irritations.

Things reach boiling point when Mackenzie discovers she has been completely left out of Haz's legal defence, organised by his family, and Amira is a little dismissive of her shock and hurt feelings.

Holly tries to keep a lid on Mackenzie's frustration and counsels her to simply ask Amira for the time she needs with Haz. However, when Amira can't understand why she needs to give up her limited time with her brother, Mackenzie retaliates by revealing that he criticised her and called her annoying.

Amira escapes the house to process her feelings, only to run into Nicolette and Vic again on the street. While Haz is horrified by Mackenzie potentially wrecking things between him and his sister, Amira returns to the house and informs them that she's leaving.

Dex remains in hospital and the Varga-Murphys wait anxiously for results of the bottle analysis in the hope they will provide some answers on his condition.

Leo has had to do a recall of all his vineyard products and his business has taken a bit of a hit. When Andrew informs them all the bottle analysis is inconclusive, Leo feels guilty for not handing the bottle over sooner. He asks his staff to search their dashcam footage from the day, hoping to pick up anything unusual.

Aaron lets him know that a popular true crime podcast has picked up the story, but they don't have much to go off yet. Leo discovers there is dashcam footage of drug dealer Shannon at the vineyard at the time the suspected sabotage occurred.

Meanwhile, tension lingers between Haz and Mackenzie over her harsh words to Amira, causing Amira to book a flight home. Mackenzie makes a sincere apology to her, admitting her desire to repair things with Haz clouded her better judgement.

Touched by the genuine regret, Amira admits Mackenzie wasn't entirely wrong about her – she has been a bit overbearing as she felt guilty for being apart from Haz for so long.

Amira still decides to leave, thanks to a work emergency back home, but it's on much better terms with Mackenzie and with Haz.

Elsewhere, Toadie's ban of Nell and JJ remains. Nell thinks it's unfair, claiming Toadie has it all wrong. She argues that JJ isn't a bad influence, just a friend going through a hard time, but Toadie is unwavering.

JJ and Haz share a conversation about moving on from past mistakes and building trust with others again. It inspires JJ to go help at the community centre, which delights Nell. They muck around but get caught by Toadie.

JJ makes an impassioned plea that he is here to volunteer and wants to prove he's trustworthy, but it doesn't go well. Toadie reiterates that JJ needs to stay away, humiliating Nell.

Terese questions Toadie about his harsh stance. Toadie admits Nell is nearly the same age Sonya was when she first started having issues and fell pregnant with Callum, and he doesn't want Nell making the same mistakes.

Shocked after springing JJ in Nell's room, Toadie doubles down on his ban, despite Nell's protests that JJ is just a friend. Terese is forced to play middleman and encourages Toadie to understand where his daughter is coming from. Absorbing Nell's continued upset, Toadie extends an olive branch to the Varga-Murphys.

As Cara and Remi point out that JJ was just trying to cheer Nell up, Toadie concedes that he's been a bit over-protective and lifts the ban, on the proviso that Nell and JJ only hang out when others are around.

Nell and JJ are pleased with their small victory, and Dex is happy to be their chaperone if it means Nell will visit him in hospital more.

Later, Terese encourages Nell to open up to her and shares that Toadie is convinced JJ and Nell are more than friends. When Nell reveals she may have a tiny one-sided crush, Terese assures Nell that it's just between them, but she's torn about keeping this information from Toadie.

Meanwhile, Karl continues to revere his snazzy new bike from Shirley. When Mackenzie queries where it came from, Karl is vague but Susan has no qualms in bringing her up to speed. Later, Shirley and Jacob are pleased to see Karl enjoying his gift, but the mood quickly shifts when Jacob is summoned to the police station.

After Jacob is charged with public indecency, he and Shirley furiously accuse Karl of blabbing. Despite Karl's protestations that it wasn't him, Karl is left in despair when Shirley takes his bike from him. Later, a guilty Mackenzie confesses that she shared intel about Jacob's pooping habits with a law school friend. What she didn't know was that her friend was up against Jacob in a case and they shared the information to discredit him.

Elsewhere, Leo apologises to the Varga-Murphys for not handing over the poisoned bottle to the police right away.

Although the family accepts his apology, Leo's business continues to cop heat from Liv's Crimesborough podcast. Andrew questions a livid Shannon, who confesses she went to the vineyard to vandalise property but bailed upon seeing the crowd.

Although Shannon adamantly denies involvement in the poisoning, an unconvinced Andrew proceeds to charge her. Leo is hopeful that Shannon will crack and clarify the extent of the bottle tampering, so he can salvage the remainder of his stock and put the situation behind him.

However, his optimism is halted when Krista reveals that Liv's podcast got an anonymous tip from an online post and has publicised that Leo held onto the poisoned bottle. With the podcast making out that Leo has something to hide, Leo is hit with a stack of function cancellations. As his woes escalate, Leo spirals, with his entire reputation and business on the line.

The fallout from the anonymous tip-off to the Crimesborough podcast is having a devastating effect on Leo's business. Bookings are being cancelled and his entire livelihood is at stake if things don't turn around quickly.

More importantly, Leo's state of mind is suffering. Despite Krista's support, he spirals to the point where he blows up at Andrew for the lack of police action and Sadie for talking behind his back.

Leo finally admits that he's left himself without a financial safety net, so Krista suggests he asks Paul or even Reece for help. Leo stubbornly refuses both options, as he'll sink or swim on his own.

He's also frustrated about not knowing the identity of "ILLEGALLY_BLONDE_07", the person who tipped off the podcaster, and tries to figure out who it could be.

Meanwhile, Karl is loving his role at Eirini Rising and one of his first tasks is organising wellness assessments for all the residents. Harold is at the top of his list but when Karl tries to slot in an appointment time, Harold is evasive, first telling Karl he doesn't have his diary with him, then saying he can't find it.

Off Karl's concern, Susan suggests it might just be that Harold doesn't understand the benefits of preventative medicine, so Karl explains the program to him. Satisfied with Harold's response, Karl is left none the wiser, but alone in his studio, Harold drops his façade – he's definitely hiding something.

Elsewhere, buoyed by the positive mood in the house, Vic suggests a family day trip to Mount Dandenong. Nicolette notices Jane's odd reaction to the idea and Vic explains that Jane always talked about showing him the tourist spot when they were married but it never eventuated.

Byron and Nicolette are available and keen but when Vic asks Jane to take a day off, she tells him she can't as things are way too busy at school. Vic tries again, calling Jane, but again she turns him down. When Nicolette shows up at the school, urging her mum to change her mind and reminding her that Vic is dying, the situation escalates.

Flustered Jane reminds Nicolette she's engaged to another man, prompting Nicolette to accuse her mum of overthinking her life instead of living it. The argument ends in a stalemate and ultimately leaves Vic disappointed when Jane doesn't show.
